Abstract

This practices dossier, designed for the course Dermatofunctional Physiotherapy, provides a structured framework for clinical reasoning and hands-on training in dermatofunctional assessment and intervention. It outlines a comprehensive patient evaluation process (medical history, exposome-related factors, red/yellow flags), and promotes objective monitoring through standardized photography, bioimpedance analysis (BIA), and anthropometric measurements (circumferences and skinfolds). The dossier includes practice blocks focused on body conditions (e.g., cellulite/PEFE staging, edema, flaccidity, localized adiposity, venous insufficiency) and facial dermatofunctional pathology with reference classifications (e.g., aging and phototype categories), palpation-based assessment, and sensitivity testing using Semmes–Weinstein monofilaments. It also addresses scar assessment and phased treatment protocols supported by clinical scales (e.g., VSS and POSAS) and parameters for technologies such as diathermy (CRI method), shock waves, pressotherapy, and non-invasive mesotherapy. Clinical cases are provided to consolidate decision-making and treatment planning.
